Steel engraving with stipple work on wove paper, sheet size 286 x 212 mm., platemark 155 x 110 mm. Engraved by Carl Mayer in Nurnberg, c. 1840. Carl Mayer (Nurnberg 1798-1868) was a German engraver, publisher and painter, who produced mainly portraits. He established a graphic printing office in Nurnberg in 1828. In good condition, the right margin with small nicks and scattered foxing, the lower margin dampstained (both well outside of image area). Sheet overall very faintly browned (except the right margin).
