Description: Full-length portrait of a young lady wearing a hat, and with her hands in a muff. Below the image a four-line poem by Alexander Pope. Stipple engraving and etching on wove paper. Sheet size 268 x 249 mm., platemark 232 x 184 mm. Engraved by George Townley Stubbs after his own design. Published in 1784 by Stubbs in London. George Townley Stubbs (1748-1815?) was a British printmaker and publisher, and the son of celebrated painter George Stubbs. In good condition. A few small spots in the image area. Soiling in the top margin and top edge of the image.
