The plate is numbered: 23bis. Engraving on wove paper, sheet size 156 x 232 mm., image size 65 x 117 mm. Engraved by Leon Dardel after the medal made by Henri Charles Wurden, and issued by the Société Royale de Numismatique de Belgique, 1879. Léon Dardel (Paris 1814 - after 1892) was a French painter and engraver (illustrator). Very little is known about his life, except he was born as the son of a jeweller. Dardel was lauded by his contemporaries for his numismatic line drawings. In excellent condition, but only the lower top of the sheet, which originally contained two engravings.
