Description: Several figures are resting or standing near the jetty where the ferry leaves. The ferry itself is a rowboat to the right. Etching on hand laid paper, made by Joannes Bemme after his own design, c. 1800. Sheet size 279 x 217 mm., platemark 183 x 121 mm. Joannes Bemme (Rotterdam 1775-1841 The Hague) was a draughtsman, watercolorist and printmaker. Most of his etchings are after old masters, or military themed. In good condition. A tear in the top margin (not affecting image). Glued to matting, with brown glue that bleeds through on the top margin (outside of image area). A small spot in the right margin.
