Description: A young woman, bust-length, wearing a dark plumed cap over jewelled head-dress, pearl necklace, fur-trimmed waistcoat over blouse with embroidered standing collar. Etching on wove paper, sheet size 97 x 137 mm., made by Wenceslaus Hollar (1607-1677) after Hans Holbein (II) and published by Adam Alexius Bierling, dated 1647. However, given the type of paper this must be a later (19th century) printing. In good condition, attached to carrier with the top two corners (causing glue stains in the corners). Cropped close to the platemark. References: New Hollstein 984.
