Description: Full-length portrait of Louis, Grand Dauphin (1661-1711) as a hunter, with a musket and dog at his side. Louis was the eldest son of of King Louis XIV and Marie Theresa of Spain. Etching and engraving on hand laid paper, sheet size 208 x 313 mm., platemark 206 x 311 mm. Engraved by Bernard Picart and published in 1702 by Etienne Picart. In fair condition, surface damage in the top left and right corners, backed with Japanese paper, overall a little foxed and browned.
