This print was made to commemmorate his departure from the Rijksprentenkabinet at age 78. The caption is: 'J.A. Boland bij zijn vertrek van 's Rijks Prentenkabinet aangeboden door Ambtenaren en Commissie van Toezicht van 's Rijks Museum'. Lithograph on chine-collé, sheet size 323 x 385 mm., image size 296 x 356 mm. Made by Georg Rueter (1875-1966), and signed in pencil in the top right corner. In good condition, some foxing in the left and lower margins and image edge, a small nick in the lower edge of the support sheet.
