Description: Amsterdam, Ian Hendricksz Boom, Ioost Pluymer, en Casparus Commelijn, 1663, 4to., full parchment spitsel binding, headbands intact, handwritten title on spine, red sprinkled edges, [4]+280 pp., in excellent condition, solid bookblock, some waterstains but otherwise clear printwork, with engraved titlepage, printer's mark, decorative initials and complete with the 36 engraved portraits by Adrianus Matham. Inscription in Latin on one of the blank endpapers in the front: "Liber hic emtus est Leovardiae die 18 mentis Augusti A.D. MDCCCXLV ... f. 0,30" followed by some initials (? B.D.). From the collection of Jelle Kaspersma and Alie Vinke, 19 Mei 2017. Alie Vinke gifted her husband this book on his 69th birthday.
