Ex libris: Daniel de Bruin. Literature: A. Lattus 2012 "Die Bibliothek des Freiherrn von Pichelsdorf, eine bemerkenswerte Privatbibliothek des 18. Jahrhunderts". l The collection of Johann Georg of Pichelsdorf (ca. 1655-1738) was originally a private library in Schloss Dross, where he lived until hij death. In the 17th and 18th century to own a private library was something to be proud of. Johann Georg made sure his impressive collection was beautifully presented in his castle, never mind the costs. When he died in 1738 he had noted in his will that the library should remain untouched in Schloss Dross. Betwee 1806 and 1847 Schloss Dross came into the possesion of family Falkenhayn. It seems likely that the existing collection of Johann Georg merged with their own collection. In 1905 Countess Maria Falkenhayn bestowed the two collections upon the Bibliothek des Stiftes Herzogenburg, where it is to date.
