Description: Amsterdam, H.M. Zanten, [1909], 15 pages and 13 annexes in the form of letters written in this case. Frans Vos worked for the firm of Vos & Walter and was active as conservator of the paintings by Frans Hals in the museum in Haarlem. A report showed serious problems with the painings and the conditions of the museum. Vos defends himself against these conclusions. This bookves a good insight in the art of paining conservation in the beginning of the 20th century and the controversy surrounding the paintings by Frans Hals. Bookplate of C.H.
