Title: Ave Maria gratia plena. / Dominus tecum [The Annunciation]
Description: The Annuciation in rococo decorative frame. The Virgin seated on the left with her hands on her chest, the announcing angel flying from the top right. Angels on eac side of the sky from which the dove of the Holy Spirit is flying down. Inscribed on the top and bottom shields: 'Ave Maria gratia plena. / Dominus tecum.' signed on the bottom: 'Joh. Georg Bergmüller pinx. / Joh. Gottfrid Seuter sculps. 1758 Aug. Vindel.' Bergmüller was a very productive ceiling painter and this explains the lowered vantage point of this representation. The plate was employed in an eighteenth century edition of a Missale Romanum l Engraving on paper with margins; plate mark: 338 x 200 mm, total: 353 x 238 mm; despite some soil due to handling on the external margins and a light foxing, this plate has preserved all its beauty.
