Description: The village of Zwammerdam on fire and the citizens being slaughtered by the French between 28th and 30th December 1672. On a drapery in the sky, held by by two allegorical figures:'Spiegel der / FRANCE TIRANNYE / gepleecht opde Hollantsche Dorpen'. Signed on the bottom right, within decorative frame: 'Romeyn de Hooghe fec. 1673'.
