Description: Fourth engraving from the suite of 12 entitled 'Première Suite des Mois de l'Année' with an allegory of the month of April. Wreaths with elements recalling hunting decorate the frame; the medaillon at the top center contains the zodiacal sign of the Taurus. A hunting scene with a man on a horse chasing a deer being taken by two dogs. Other two men are running on he ground blowing hunting horns. In the background a montanious landscape. At the bottom on a cartouche: 'Aprilis flores aperit avibusq. canoris / Paria dat laetas ostendit arbore frondes / Cum pri Regis' l Engraving on paper, trimmed within platemark; total: 177 x 238 mm. State I/2 before plate numbering. Small stain on the right, on the decorative frame
