DIE XIV DECEMBRIS.'; on the bottom: 'Inclijta Lugdanum, manibus seruata tuorum, / Cum tua tecta fames, cum tua pressit Iber; / Aspice cui bonas media vel pace trophæum, / Aspice quem ciuem non pudet esse tuum. / Scribendo manus illa tibi plus profuit olim, / Quam quæ pro patrijs concidet vsta focis. / DH.' where DH stands for Daniel Heinsius, who wrote the poem.
