The corners are bumped and the contents show minor foxing. Overall in good state. 8,8 x 13,8 cm, [11] 6-216 pp. The book is illustrated with ten engravings and etchings concerning the fables of La Fontaine which are depicted in pairs. Except for the frontispiece and the vignette under the title. A funny remark is that the title page is printed as if it was the third edition. An added title page reveals that it concerns the fourth edition. The book is signed with 'Van Leeuwen 1830'. l This French version of the fables of La Fontaine is published in Paris as a study book for young people to educate them in morality. B2366
