Description: The Hague (A la Haye), Pierre van Cleef, 1739, 8vo., French style binding in half leather with gold tooled spine and title, with decorative paper embossed with floral design, with marbled endpapers and marbled edges, 252 pp. Beautiful copy with some damage to the leather of the hinge on the back en some signs of wear along the edges of the binding. There is a woodcut vignet on the titlepage and and a small endpiece on the last page. Het boek werd in de ‘s Gravenhaagsche Courant van 14 augustus 1739 aangekondigd. Het beschrijft o.a. de trekvaarten, zeden en gewoonten van de Hollanders.
