This account gives the history of the industry and prior companies leading up to 1872. As well as the Celebration Dinner, its entertainers and the multitude of guests, there are photographs of company activities, ships, staff and the players in the company rugby teams. There is also a fold-out colour map of the companiy's world-wide cable system and, tucked in, the monthly supplement - an A3 charcoal drawing in sepia of wild olive trees at Cap Martin. Very scarce.
