Description: [Batavia], privately issued, s.d. [circa], 1930. Large oblong folio. crushed orig. boards. With a broad hand-painted, gilt border on upper cover, a small original pen-& ink drawing in left corner of upper boards & calligraphed lettering (vertical in left broad part of border: BANTAM). Album cont. tog. 20 leaves of heavy cream-coloured paper, with extensive text in poetry, in ms. in black ink, block-lettered, with original coloured drawings, rather skilfully done, dispersed within text & tog. 25 original photos by an amateur (but skilfully taken), pasted-in, a very large folded linen-backed hand-drawn track-map, embellished with handcoloured illustrations. Album describing & illustrating a tour (weekend of 2nd August, 1932?) as a present to Mr. Jöbsis by his friends, on the occasion of his birthday, preceding his annual leave to Holland, sailing to the Netherlands. A curious and exclusive manuscript, describing the tour from Batavia to Bantam and back again.
