Large 8°, qtr. dark-blue grained morocco, richly gilt tooled spine in compartments with five raised bands, title-label lettered in gilt, gilt initials 'F.F.' tooled at foot of spine, thin delicate 2-barred gilt line borders on sides, matching dark blue marbled covers, original marbled endpapers, title printed in red and blue(2), 138pp. Title-vignette in light blue, numerous charming ills. throughout, in blue & brown, many acting as border ills., also some full-p. with text printed within the ills., typographical borders, initials, some head-&-tail pieces, all after drawings/designs by PAUL AVRIL. Deals with gloves, umbrellas and parasols in parisian fashion. A very good copy in a special privately executed binding, fore-edge uncut, printed with wide margins on heavy paper. (some slight occas. foxing inside, also on fore-edge)
