Dutch language scholarly gynaecological handbook by which in word and picture the importance of female pelvic gymnastics is described in detail and recommended. Afte a genral introduction about female anatomy of primary sex-organs, further detailed information is supplied about primary and progressive exercise techniques, which includes valuable information about gymnastics during pregnancy and childbed discussed in a separate chapter. Very good copy in original publ. cloth. Theodoor Hendrik van de Velde was a dutch physician and gynaecologist who served as director at the Gynaecological Institute inf Haarlem. Van de Velde became a world clelebrity after his 1926 book The Perfect Marriage, (or Het volkomen Huwelijk). He is credited with his showing in 1905 that women only ovulate once per menstrual cycle. This contributed to the improvement of calendar-based improvement of birth control.
