Description: Amsterdam, [s.n.], [C.A. Spin & Zn., TYP], 1932. Large oblong 8°. [290x230mm.]. Original limp untrimmed wrappers. Covertitle in bold capital monochrome type with a large decorative illustration after a drawing. Table of contens (verso blank), followed by 19 captioned monochrome plates of which one with cartoons and balloon text, printed on heavy cream paper, untrimmed, all drawn by Ton van Tast. Dutch collection of 19 fine plates illustrating and recommending top-class interiors, bars, bedrooms, top-services by highly trained employees, classy food and drink, modern up-to-date international communication, in- and outdooramusement. Hotal Carlton was designed by the architect G.J. Rutgers, strongly influenced by Berlage and his Amsterdam Art School movement. It was opened in conjunction with the 1928 Amsterdam Olyimpics and attracted many American visitors and guests. Good to very good copy. (wrappers a little bit discoloured and dog-eared, some minor chiplping to tail margin of front cover, spine ends a bit worn but skilfully restored, contents clean).
