PART 2: Monochrome lithographed front cover, drawn and designed by H.J. Melis, featuring the National Dutch Virgin protecting some [japanese] children. covertitle in capital bold black type, verso blank. Numerous captioned monochrome steel-engraved illustrations, incl. some full-page, drawn and designed by Apol, Haaxman, J. Verhuell, Marie Heijermans, Jo A. Moesman(et al.). Full-page popular song composed on the occasion, musicscores and vocals, many contributions by undisclosed authors about the Krakata eruption and its victims on Java. Dutch language nineteenth century lavishly illustrated publication with as objective raising funds on behalf of Javan3ese victims hit by the tsunami originating from the Krakatau eruption in 1883 off East Coast Sumatra. The second part is of special interest as it has been publised by competing Utrecht Publishers. Very rare in such completenes. Very well preserved.
