Original coloured and lithographed advertising card (picture postcard), 15x10.5cm., published by the first Indonesian Restaurant in Holland Waroong Djawa, established 1912, at the Hague and Scheveningen. Designed by Jan Lavies. Front side with a horizontal picture illustrating a row of waiters dressed in the Indonesian way in white with tranditional head-scarves, serving a rice-table to a customer sitting at his table. Card signed in print Jan Lavies. Verso with company's informative text, partly in english, at tail margin. SCAN AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST. The Waroong Djawa, a The Hague based Indonesian restaurant, later with an affiliate at Scheveningen (up till 1940), was founded in 1912, presenting to the dutch public Indonesian food. This card has been designed by Jan Lavies and is in coloured lithography, unused. Fine copy.
