Many ills. on 28 (of 30) fine col. lithographed plates, explanatory text to plates on final 3 unnumbered lvs., errata (verso blank). The first Batak-dutch dictionary, in batak script, transcribed into dutch. Compiled by command of the Dutch Bible Society, Nederlandsch Bijbel Genootschap, NBG, especially dealing with the Dairi-Batak dialect. which is still the only printed source, and even for the Mandailing dialect not yet superfluous. (viz. VOORHOEVE, 9-10). The fine coloured lithographed plates after H. von Rosenberg and C.A. Schr:oder, depict. a.o. Batak houses/architecture, arms, household implements, clothing and ikats, magic staffs and poles, &c. A good to very good and clean copy, plates with fresh colouring. Many copies lacking the plates as they were very suitable for framing. (lacks in our copy plates 23 and 25).
