Excellent attempt of an analytical history and description of the curious and very rare Indo-Javanese kris-blade, present in the holdings of the Royal Tropical Institute, K.I.T., Amsterdam, commonly called De Kris van Knaud. This rare blade, originally acquired by Charles Knaud [Java, 1840-.X), of which a plaster cast and a photograph was present in the holdings of the Bataviaasch Museum of Arts and Archaeology in the 19th century, and later extensively described, with a full-p. plate in N.J. Krom's 'Hindoe-Javaansche Kunst' (2-volume edn., 1920). A very interesting essay.
