Promoted Corporal 1 June 1816. Takes part in the Java-war 1825-1830; Padri-war, Westcoast Sumatra 1831-1834; Promoted Lt.-Col. 7th June 1845; Last expedition: Bali 1849. Pensioned-off as Col.tit. 7 Nov. 1853. Commander of Marurese auxiliary Corps Barisan, Bankalan, Madura 1835-1840. Bearer of the highest dutch military order Militaire Willemsorde, 4th class, later promoted 3rd. class. Dies 19th Dec. 1857, Tjilatjap-Java. Account of a stunning military career, and one of the most colourful figures in the history of Royal dutch Colonial Army, K.N.I.L. Good copy in orig. publ. cloth. Scarce.(name in ink on recte of first blank, one-line rubber stamped name on recte of hftitle, not disturbing however).
