BUUR, I.J., 0001. In his preface and introduction author states that this compilation of dutch sea-voyages are truthfully retold without the usual lies and exaggerations, in order to educate and interest dutch youths in the history of dutch sea-voyages and discoveries. The first part deals with subsequent voyages by [Willem] Barentsz. and Heemskerk to Norway, Russia, incl. the stay of the dutch on Nova Zembla, and to Cathay, China and Tartary; the second part describes sea-voyages to the East[Indies} by a.o. Jan Janszoon Molenaar, Jacob van Neck and Wijbrand van Warwijck, ending with the first circumnavigation by Olivier van Noort en Jacob van Ilpendam. Although this is vol. I of II, still of great rarity. The copy present in KITLV-library lacks all the plates. Good copy. (some occas. marginal soiling, but all in all a very reasonable to good copy).
