The first series of official dutch government ordinances since the foundation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in 1813 (under King William III) in which the dutch Jewish community (Sefardim) became equal to dutch law, as already was the case with the dutch Reformed Church that was, de facto, the official Religion in the Netherlands. These ordinances regulated every aspect of public life: education, financing the erection of Synagoges, Rabbi's salaries,&c..One of the foremost ordinance was the obligation for [jewish] children and teachers to master reasonably the dutch language. The page-numbering is according to the size of the Rabbinates the Netherlands had been divided in. The first series to be publishes. A fine copy. Very rare.
