Commemmorates the 50th anniversary of the famous Amsterdam Zoo, commonly called Artis. Special copy bound for the late Queen-Dowager Emma [Née Van Waldeck-Pyrmondt] (to King William III) and regent to the late Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands. Her bookplate pasted on verso of first silken doublure, Her Crown in blind-tooling at head of ti.-p. A beautifully executed copy in MINT condition. (small cancellation-stamp afgevoerd across upper left corner of bookplate, a smaller one across the blind-stamp at head of ti.-p., copy from the then Royal Library).
