Description: Amsterdam, 1961 -1962. 5 volumes, numbering 8 to 16 pages. Wrappers, staples. 21.5 cm (This Municipal Lyceum for Girls, at the Reijnier Vinkeleskade 62, Amsterdam, started in 1926. From the beginning the famous Dutch chessplayer and worldchampion Max Euwe (1935-1937) was for 15 years teacher mathematics at this school. One of his pupils was the mother of even better chessplayer Jan Timman, though he never became a worldchampion. She was invited by Euwe to attent one of the matches with Aljechin, held at the 'toneelzaal' of the school in 1935. At the end of the sixties the school was renamed 'Meisjesscholengemeenschap Gerrit van der Veen', and later it became the 'Joke Smit College voor Volwassenen')
