Description: London: Hampton & Sons, Auctioneers, [1897.] 4to (274 x 210 mm), 134pp., frontispiece and 6 plates, staples rusted causing frontis., to become loose, with two A.L.s from the auctioneers to the recipient of the catalogue, orig. printed wrappers with chapped edges, 1914 lots. Hengrave Hall, a substantial Tudor house in Suffolk initially owned by the Kytson family, passed into the possession of the Gage family by marriage in the early seventeenth century, and remained in Gage family ownership until the death of the widow of the last baronet in 1887. The present handsomely produced auction catalogue provides an excellent record of the Gage family's inherited possessions.
