Title: Hinchingbrooke.
Description: London: Privately Printed [by Hatchards], 1910. First edition, 4to (253 x 194 mm), [4], 50, [2]pp., orig. publishers red buckram, bevelled boards with the Earl of Sandwich's gilt armorial stamp on upper cover, spine faded untrimmed, t.e.g. Produced at the instigation of the 8th Earl of Sanwich who then occupied the house. Lists of the pictures and contents that survived a disastrous fire in the mid 1830s, which is described. Further pictures were lost in recent times when some of them, mainly full lenghts, were in store and burnt in transit while being returned to Mapperton Manor, present home of the family. Provenance: Presentation inscription from Earl of Sandwich to J. Fairhurst, Huntingdon, 1916; Sir Howard Colvin's copy; the library of Josceline Grove, with bookplate and their typed catalogue description pasted to front endpapers. Holmes, p.134;
