Third edition, corrected, 12mo, viii, 234, [2]pp., with final advert leaf, inscribed on the title "Mrs. Watt 1808", lacks front free endpaper, bottom outer corner of M2 missing with no loss of text, original boards, uncut, lower part of back-strip missing, otherwise a nice copy. First published in 1807, in response in part to James Beresford's "The Miseries of Human Life" (1806), which was not itself in the form of a fictional narrative.
