Title: Or, The Political Hodge-Podge. To the Tune of 'Mrs. Arne, Mrs. Arne, It gives me Concern.'.....
Description: N.P., [York?], N.D., [1780]. 4to, single leaf, printed on one side only, uncut. An attack on Christopher Wyvill and his supporters in the Yorkshire Association. Twelve doggerel stanzas in double column against Christopher Wyvill, Chairman and other members of the Yorkshire Association for Parliamentary Reform, including the poet William Mason, Lord Fauconberg (once Sterne's patron), etc. Moderate Whigs found them embarassing, and Horace Walpole wondered that Mason should think Wyvill 'a sensible man'. In the fervour of the times some 25 county associations followed York, though few endured long. Rare, the British Library, Bodleian Library and McMaster University copies only located in the ESTC.
