["...A discussion of the possibility of arranging passage for more émigrés to return to Russia brought charges that German agents had played a major though secret role in organizing the three earlier trainloads of émigrés. Abram Charasch, a member of the Jewish Bund, insisted that he had evidence of suspicious circumstances surrounding the departure of Lenin's group in particular.....Abram Charasch became the chief exponent in the émigré colony of the view that Bronski had made secret agreements. As an avowed socialist who also wrote for Die Neue Zurcher Zeitung, Charasch sat in an exceptionally influential position, and his views had repercussions both in the émigré colony and in the Swiss Foreign Office for some years to come. Bronski, or Warszawski, had already served as a stormy petrel in Zurich socialist circles; he had played a major part in Lenin's campaign to influence the Socialist Party of the city of Zurich in the winter of 1916-1917. Well known for his lectures in socialist and youth groups, Bronski, who held a doctorate from the University of Zurich, had been Lenin's candidate for a seat in the Vorstand of the Zurich party in January 1917.. According to Charasch, Bronski had been approached through the wife of a friend, Bentsion Dolin, who, Charasch charged, had been a German agent. This seemed to many to be ample evidence for suspecting a secret arrangement between Lenin and the Germans...." - from "New Documents on Lenin's Departure from Switzerland, 1917"].
