Good. ¶ A German Jesuit priest's Nazi-era writings on Germanic "Volkish" culture. Georg Denzler, in his 1997 paper 'Antijudaismus unds Antisemitismus in der Theologie unseres Jahrhunderts: Karl Adam, Michael Schmaus und Anton Stonner' [Facta Universitatis (University of Nis)] "drew attention to Stonner's efforts to create a connection between Germanic folkism and Christianity. For example, Stonner wrote in 1934: 'The Germans of the present are pervaded by a longing for a right-wing becoming popular'. Stonner saw in Germanness the 'indissolubly intimate intertwining of Germanic and Christian nature', compatible with the anti-Semitism of National Socialism. 'As is well known, this emphasis on racial history corresponds entirely to the views and intentions of the Führer' said Stonner. Denzler quotes Friedrich Zoepfl's review of Stonner, Germanentum und Christianentum , 1933, in the Theologische Revue, Volume 33, 1934: ' Originating from practice, the booklet aims to serve practical purposes, namely the reorganization of teaching in the sense of a strong one, as required by the national state Emphasis on Germanic-German essence ... As a joyful expression of Catholic commitment to the Germanic-German hereditary basis of our being, Stonner's little book is to be sincerely welcomed and we hope that it will be widely distributed'" - wikipedia]
