Good. ¶ This is an album of political cartoons published in the Netherlands daily 'De Volkskrant' ca. 1968-1972. 62 pages concern international politics - almost exclusively concerning the Vietnam War and Richard M. Nixon. The remainding 62 pages concern Dutch domestic politics ["Opland, pseudonym of Rob Wout, was one of Holland's most famous political cartoonists of the last half of the twentieth century. Starting in 1948, he made political cartoons for De Volkskrant and continued producing these cartoons for a period of 53 years. At the same time, Opland delivered a weekly cartoon to De Groene Amsterdammer. His recognizable style, which he developed without formal training, is characterized by thick lines and the characteristic, schematic heads of the politicians he ridiculed. The high point of Opland' s career was in the 1970s and 1980s, during the days of Dutch politicians Van Agt, Wiegel and Den Uyl, and America's president Nixon. Opland was highly respected by his colleagues and even by politicians, which often annoyed him" - lambiek website].
