Some browning, publishers blue cloth boards, frayed and stained, rebacked in gilt lettered navy morocco. ¶ Apparently written by Mrs Olivia Wilmot Serres under the pseudonym of Lady Anne Hamilton. A person who had gained the confidence of Lady Anne and obtained from her a variety of private information, published, without her knowledge and much to her regret and indignation, a volume purporting to be written by her, entitled Secret history .... - Dict. nat. biog. A condensed version was published the same year as ‘The authentic records of the court of England, for the last seventy years. Royal Collection Trust Volume 1 starts text on pp.26 as in our copy.
