[Lacking port. frontis.] Folding map of the battle of Nasebie, dec. initial letters. Some browning and occasional soiling, ex-libris Joseph Berens, contemporary half calf with marbled boards, worn, boards detached. ¶ John Rushworth [Rushforth], (c. 1612–1690), historian and politician. ‘The fourth part, also in two volumes, appeared in 1701, and covered 1645 through to the execution of the king. Rushworth had been appropriated to whig history at this point, but the fourth part was less original and useful than the former parts; the final 1000 pages or so derived directly from Samuel Pecke's newsbook Perfect Diurnal of the Passages in Parliament. Rushworth's editing of this material was so lackadaisical that he failed to omit book advertisements and other anomalies....’ ODNB.
