Description: London: Tombleson & Co., N.d. c.[1834]. viii + 181pp. + [iii]. Illus. title page, folding map, 66 engraved plates [of 69 called for]. Plates sl. offset, sporadic spotting heavy in parts, title page and flyleaf browned and spotted, fore-edge of title page waterstained, contemporary ownership inscription, marbled e.ps. and edges, hinges cracked but firm, half green calf with marbled boards, lightly browned and rubbed, extremities rubbed with sl. wear to corners, gilt filleted raised bands dec. gilt compartments and gilt lettered leather title label to lightly browned and sl. rubbed spine. ¶ Originally issued in parts during 1832 and 1833. After part publication was complete, copies were issued bound in cloth. William Tombleson (1795-1846) English topographical and architectural artist, illustrator, copper and steel engraver, writer and printmaker.
