Institutional bookplate, tape marks to verso of half title, amateur rebind in modern leather, gilt lettered label so spine. ¶ Inscribed to verso of half title facing title page ‘To John Lodge Esq. from his affectionate & obliged humble servant the Author.’ Probably John Lodge (1692-1774 English Archivist and historian, best know for his work ‘The Peerage of Ireland.’ With a folded sheet with contemporary notes and inscribed ‘For Rev. Dr. Lodge Armagh’ probably Lodge’s only surviving son, William Lodge, Chancellor of Armagh Cathedral.
