Description: , 3 works in 1 vol. Sm. Thick 8vo. Some offsetting, ex.-libris J.J. Reynolds, some very light browning, contemporary half calf with marbled boards, minor wear to boards, dec. gilt compartments and gilt ruled raised bands with gilt lettered title label to spine. ¶ Ex.-libris George Ormerod, (1785–1873) English antiquary and historian. Among his writings was the major county history of Cheshire. Apparently the first edition of the above work published in 1819 was the first book to be printed in Ross-on-Wye. Thomas Dudley Fosbroke [Fosbrooke], (1770-1842), antiquary. ODNB ‘... in 1810 Fosbrooke accepted the curacy of Walford near Ross, Herefordshire, with the neighbouring parochial chapelry of Ruardean, Gloucestershire; he moved to Walford in 1811. For eighteen years he had studied for eight hours or more a day ... He also wrote tourist guides, the most popular being [the above] ...’
