Marginal stain to frontispiece and title, and some staining to a few plates. Original pictorial cloth, decorated in gilt, somewhat rubbed. First edition of this well written acccount of the author's extensive travels in the Holy Land. He was particulary interested in the basin of the Dead Sea, the districts east of Jordan, as being the least accessible to travellers.
