A rare work about Reinius' journey to Canton during the years 1746 to 1748 as a midshipman on a Swedish East India Company ship "Cronprintzen Adolph Friedrich". It contains an abridgement of Reinius' diary which was kept during the voyage. He writes briefly about the stops in Cadiz and Mauritius. In more detail, he describes the trading conditions in Canton including information on trade regulations, procedures for unloading the commodities, etc. He gives a good description of the European factories (foreign quarters) outside the city walls of Guangzhou. Reinius complete diary was first published in 1939. Aalto p.18.
