A charming book presenting fifty different woodblock printed mythological ships, mostly in colour. In Japanese folklore, the Takarabune is a legendary ship piloted through the heavens by the Seven Lucky Gods during the first three days of the New Year. A picture of the ship will bring good luck. Seems scarce, a second volume was published in 1922. Binding lightly rubbed, internally very good.
