Description: . Pp. xxviii, one blank, 152, (1). With one double-page engraved plate. Some annotations in pencil. Uncut copy in original boards, rubbed and some stain to upper cover. Presentation inscription from the author to Sir Henry Strachey, British politician. First edition. Comprises various essays on Arabic and Persian literature and languages. The engraved plate illustrate a vase in Weston's collection and is an early example of Chinese ceramic design in Western literature. Cordier BS 1565. Löwendahl 737.
