Description: . Pp. (viii), 246, errata (1). Modern marbled papercovered boards, red title label on spine. A rare Swedish historical account of the Ottoman empire. It starts with the founder Osman I (or Osman Gazi 1258-1326) and ends with Suleiman the Magnificent who died in 1566. Sprinchorn has partly based the account on works by Kantemir, Ricaut and D'Ohsson but supplemented with own material. Sprinchorn (1780-1823) served as a preacher at the Swedish legation in Constantinople for a period of six years. No library copies found except in Sweden.
