The journal was published quarterly by the Swedish Society of Anthropology and Geography until 1965. Text in Swedish. The journals cover a wide range of interesting articles, many first-hand accounts, in anthropology, archaeology and geography. The name Ymer (in English Ymir) originates from the giant Ymer in the Viking creation myth. From his body, Oden created the earth. A few examples: A.E.
