Owner's name, dated 1892 on title page. A Good complete, original copy with intact hinges but some flaws. The front panel of the cloth, as well as the spine, is quite darkened/soiled but only moderately worn. There is some mild dampstaining affecting the first few leaves and the margins of the last few. Title page spliting about two inches along the spine. Overall a good useable copy of the first US edition with prefaces added. Said to be the first illustrated children's book. Scarce. Good.
