Undated but gift inscription on front free endpaper dated June 1876 so possibly an early reprint; elaborate chromolithographed title page and 95 chromolithographed plates (checked and all present). Blind-stamped cloth cover with gilt lettering and decoration to front and spine; spine slightly faded and dull; a few small white marks to front; a little wear to edges and corners. Overall, a very special, good quality copy. Binding repaired at some point maintaining almost entirely original cloth and reinforced hinges.
